3 best places to view autumn leaves in Tokyo

Where are the best places to view Autumn leaves in Tokyo? Here's 3 of the best spots guaranteed to give you a beautiful fall sight.

  1. Ueno Park - Ueno Park is a short distance away from Ueno Station in Tokyo which is accessible via a multitude of train lines. Ueno Park is known for it's Zoo but it's also host to gorgeous views of Sakura in spring and Autumn leaves in Fall. The estimated dates for the best Autumn foliage are mid November to early December but it's advised to check before making your trip.

  2. Rikugi Garden - Rikugi Garden is very famous for it's fall scenery and even has night viewings where you can view the leaves and trees illuminated for a magical experience. It is a short walk from JR Yamanote line Komagome Station and there's an entrance fee of 300yen. The expected dates are the same as Ueno Park and the same advice applies.

  3. Jingu Gaien Ginkgo Avenue - This avenue is host to Tokyo's ginkgo trees lining the streets. The leaves of the Ginkgo tree turn a brilliant golden yellow colour and are truly a sight to behold in Fall. You can get there via the JR Chuo/Sobu line Shinanomachi Station. The expected viewing dates are late November to early December.

Don't forget to check the foliage forecasts before making your way out to any of these beautiful Fall locations!
