Convenience Stores

Convenience Stores

Nothing is more convenient than Japan’s convenience stores. You think 7/11 in your country is great? WRONG. In Japan you can literally do anything at the convenience store! Need some milk? Sorted. Need to pay your electricity bill or buy a concert ticket for Lady Gaga’s concert next week? Also sorted! Not to mention the ready-made meals at the convenience store are delicious too unlike the sad row of sandwiches that may or may not be days old back home. Japan’s convenience stores are called convenience stores for a reason and if you’re living in Tokyo you're more than likely to have at least 3 different convenience stores within a 50 meter radius of your place.

Public Transport

Public Transport

Though people like to go on about how Japanese public transport is always punctual and never late and in the rare occasion they are late the rail staff apologise to each customer one by one… That isn’t actually true, some of the busier lines are very often late during rush hour due to the sheer number of people trying to ride the system at these times. However, that doesn’t take away from the fact it is very convenient. The rail system is pretty easy to understand and there’s signs in both English and Japanese everywhere. Need to be over the other side of Tokyo in under an hour? No problem, take the Tozai line! Just try and avoid rush hour or last train of the day as that's when it tends to be most crowded.

Great Food

Great Food

Japanese food is great. Food in Japan in general is great whether it be traditional or not. Despite Tokyo having this image of being ridiculously expensive, eating out here is pretty cheap. You can get a decent meal for 500 yen or less, that’s literally less than 5 dollars! Amazing. Plus there’s literally tons and tons of different kinds of restaurants and bistros near train stations and dotted about town, whether you’re feeling like some Okinawan cuisine or a cheeky italian, you’re more than likely to find what you’re craving and for cheap.

Always Something To Do

Always Something To Do

Bored? Want to go off and spend an afternoon doing something interesting? Well if you’re in Tokyo you’re in luck! The sheer multitude of things to do here can leave many feeling overwhelmed. Whether it’s an off the beaten path cafe in Kichijoji or an exhibition in Odaiba, just a quick google search of things to do in Tokyo will bring up lists upon lists of stuff to do. There’s even two different Disney parks to choose from in Tokyo! You’ll never run out of things to do if you’re feeling adventurous.

If this sounds like a dream to you, why not make the move over to Japan? Or if you’re already here ROOCAS ONE can help you settle in and find an apartment, share house or house of your dreams in Tokyo and the surrounding areas.
